Live Cover - AI at Equine Medical Center Chesapeake OH - Shipped Semen

1. Booking . Completion, signing, and submission of the contract with a check made out to Melissa Jefferson for $200.00 as a booking fee will confirm a reservation. The booking fee is later applied to the full breeding fee. In cases of multiple mares needing shipped semen or live cover on the same day, priority will be according to earliest paid booking fee.

2. Breeding Fee . The breeding fee for 2007 is $600.00. It is due before shipment of semen, or before the mare is removed from Stallion Owner's farm or Equine Medical Center after breeding or insemination. If a booking fee is paid in advance, the balance of $400.00 is due at this time.

3. Negative Uterine Culture/Cytology . All mares that are to be bred live cover must have proof of a recent negative culture. It is strongly recommended that AI mares also be cultured. Mares must also be UTD on vaccinations and have negative coggins and EVA titer for live cover.

4. Live Foal Guarantee . If this breeding fails to produce a live foal that stands and nurses there is a return privilege available. The Mare Owner can rebreed that same mare or another that is approved by stallion owner during the 2008 or 2009 breeding season by paying a $200.00 booking fee for each year in which the mare is bred. This privilege expires after 2009. The breeding fee is not refundable unless the stallion dies or is no longer fit for breeding, or unless non-viable semen is shipped.

5. Mare Care . If the mare is left at Stallion Owner's farm there will be a board charge of $7 per day. The Mare Owner agrees to pay for any veterinary care during this stay, including but not limited to, palpations and ultrasounds to determine estrous and pregnancy. While the utmost care will be taken to prevent any injuries or death, the stallion owner is not responsible for any injuries or death that may occur while mare is on premises and/or being bred. For all AI mares, mare care and board must be arranged with the Equine Medical Center Chesapeake, OH where mare will be boarded and inseminated.

6. Transported Semen . Cooled semen will be shipped overnight upon payment of the stud fee of $600.00 and shipping/collection costs of $250.00. The mare owner will notify the Stallion Owner when the mare comes in heat and has been palpated or had an ultrasound by a veterinarian. Baring unforeseen circumstances, semen can be sent on 24 hour notice. Do not expect us to collect and ship semen on the day that you call.

7. Collection fees . The collection and shipment fee is $250.00, this is not included in the stud fee or booking fee. If a second shipment is requested during a cycle a additional $250.00 collection fee will be due.

8. Liability. Neither the Stallion Owner nor Mare Owner, their agents or employees are liable for the death, injury, disease, nor accident caused to or by the stallion, mare and/or foal.
